                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY
                   CLOSURE OF VARIOUS STREETS IN THE DOWNTOWN
                   AREA, MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN, ON
                   SATURDAY, OCTOBER 2, 1993, FROM 7:30 A.M. TO
                   12:00 NOON FOR THE "AMERICAN HEART
                   ASSOCIATION WALK" SPONSORED BY BLUE CROSS
                   BLUE SHIELD OF TENNESSEE, UNDER CERTAIN
                   CONDITIONS DESCRIBED HEREIN.
                  
                  
                                                    
                  
                  
       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby authorized 
the
       temporary closing of the eastbound lanes of Gateway Avenue from
       M.L. King Boulevard to Cameron Circle, using the sidewalks for 
the
       route until reaching the southbound ramp from the Veterans' 
Bridge
       to westbound Riverfront Parkway, then the temporary closing of 
the
       north shoulder of the ramp from southbound Veterans' Bridge to
       westbound Riverfront Parkway and the north shoulder of westbound
       Riverfront Parkway from the Veterans' Bridge ramp to the
       easternmost Riverwalk gate at Ross's Landing and using the
       Riverwalk and the sidewalk for the remainder of the walk on
       Saturday, October 2, 1993 from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon for the
       "Heart Association Walk" under the sponsorship of Blue Cross Blue 

       Shield of Tennessee.  The sponsor shall set out barricades and
       warning signs in accordance with the traffic control plan 
attached

       hereto and shall provide, at all times, an access lane for
       emergency vehicles.
